|Living Room: Rooms & Gardens Kensington cane chairs, a heirloom table, vintage lamp with new paisley shade.|
HouseBeautiful featured this chic and oh-so-pretty cottage designed by Schuyler Samperton located in Los Angeles, CA and Volia! Many of the pieces Samperton used are from one of my favorite stores, Rooms and Gardens. Rooms and Gardens represents the best of California Style with its easy coastal feel, yet it plays well with many other design styles as you can see here, in Samperton's beautiful work.
Schuyler Samperton's inspiring design is a tranquil, garden-like home filled with lush flowered pillows, along with the ease of beautiful patina antiques from the owner's parents, for an old-school Newport cottage feel. Can I just say, I love a cottage.
A charming mix. The living room walls are painted Farrow & Ball's Skylight. Samperton reupholstered Rooms & Garden's sofas in Jasper's Charleston pattern and accented them with a mix of colors and patterns in vintage textiles. I am loving the dark lavender lampshade, setting off the gorgeous tribal rug that anchors this room.
Flowers, there must be flowers; whether they are from the garden, super market or florist designer they are always the perfect accent. Place them next to your stove, on your bathroom counter, next to your favorite reading light, a nook in the entry or a shelf on a bookcase. Flowers by the very talented Louesa Roebuck.
This 1939 sun-drenched kitchen is charmingly intimate, with a 19th-century English farm table paired with Crate & Barrel chairs. Walls and cabinetry are painted in Benjamin Moore's Ivory.
Pottery Barn chairs surround a dinning/library table that is actually part of the living room (see below). The table, console, and gold mirror are by Formas. The monogrammed vintage lawn balls on the console are often for sale in Sonoma, CA at Sonoma County Antiques, another one of my favorite stores.
In the family room, sofas and a wing chair from Rooms & Gardens are upholstered in Jasper's Melaya, and Kathryn M. Ireland's Woven. Ballard Design's ottoman is upholstered in a Bolivian textile from L'Aviva Home. Do you see the dinning/library table placed behind the couch? If you have room in your family room add a table and chairs; use it for a game of Monopoly, homework, craft projects or a casual meal. The finishing touches in this embracing space are items the owner loves: books, flowers, heirloom pieces, nothing says "don't touch". "Every room tells a story- of their passions, their memories, and the rich heritage of family life." - Samperton
The formal lady-like dinning room is an artful mix. The curtains are in a Colefax and Fowler stripe, the wallpaper is Brunschwig & Fils Latrobe Alabaster, and from Ballard Design comes the Ballroom Folding Chairs.
The powder room's "Italian marbled paper" is actually Pheasant by Twigs, accenting the faux bamboo mirror and eterges from Reborn Antiques.
This charming master bedroom's wallpaper pattern is Farrow & Ball's Tented Stripe. Samperton covered the headboard and shades in Claremont's Ellamy pattern.
Rooms & Gardens Faux Bamboo beds are dressed in Corsica linen duvet covers from Pine Cone Hill, and the wallpaper is Humming Birds by Cole & Son in the guest bedroom. "We call it the Royal Tenenbaums Room"- Samperton. I call it lovely.
